Wholistic Lifestyle for an AnimalThe wholistic approach to animal treatment is a triangle of health practitioner and/or veterinarian, pet owner, and animal. It takes into account everything about the animal. In addition to a physical examination, and perhaps laboratory tests and x-rays, we need to know the animal's diet, housing situation, social situation and likes and dislikes. We include the energy levels of the animal, not just the physical. We see the animal from as many dimensional perspectives as we can. A wholistic approach needs a lot of time. It is more than using one conventional treatment or another. It is an entirely different way of viewing the situation. When using natural healing modalities, you are not suppressing the animal's condition as is done mostly with conventional medicine, you are healing from the source of the problem bringing on a cure, rather than suppressing what you see with medications to make the symptoms go away causing it to manifest in some other way on some other dimension of the being. Unlike conventional medicine that can change things instantly but not cause a cure, this takes time. Of course, in a case of emergency, one needs to get to a vet immediately and do whatever is needed to save the life of the animal. In wholistic treatment, one looks at the whole problem starting with the environment and moving out to the energies, all that support the problem. Animals are whole beings with feelings and emotions. They are different than ours as they see the world from a different perspective than we do. But those very things still need to be addressed for a "cure". Dr. Stephen Tobin, past President of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association gives a great example: I saw a dog last week that regularly develops diarrhea when kenneled. The dog has been checked for parasites: its food changed several times, etc. The last time it was kenneled, it didn‚t have diarrhea at the kennel, but started it one week later. Further questioning brought out information that at the last kennel, one person took special interest in the dog, playing with him more and keeping him company. The other important bit of information is that the owners started renovating their kitchen a week after their return. Between meeting with the designer, and work on the kitchen itself, they didn‚t have a much time for the dog as they previously had. The homeopathic remedy I prescribed stopped the diarrhea, but the real solution is spending more quality time with the dog. Understanding the make-up of your animal's species is also a big help in beginning to understand how they respond to their life. A dog that is a breed to herd is not just going to have that funny little quirkiness of wanting to herd all the cats in the house, but will exhibit unusual neurotic behavior if not allowed to do what is natural to him. Releasing this energy can only happen in a structured disciplined exercise to be most beneficial. Then perhaps he'll stop eating your shoes when you are gone. This line of thought can be found in many many ways in an animal's life. Another important factor in the wholistic approach is the human companion feeling empowered because the human companion must be involved. You can't simply drop off an animal at a wholistic clinic and sometime later simply pick up a healthy animal. Sick animals do much better when they feel safe and secure in a familiar environment. The pet owners feel more self-empowered when they are involved in the treatment and it helps in the long run as when a decision needs to be made quickly, panic no longer sets in but a clear direction with understanding. An Interdimensional Healing session with an animal is a wholistic approach from the energetic level to the physical. We look at it all inbetween. The animal receives any of the following to achieve cure: Reiki healing, psychic surgery, nutritional consultation for diet and supplementation, animal communication, constriction release, frequency repatterning for negative beliefs, homeopathy treatment, herbs, flower essences, Tellington Touch, Reconnective Healing, gemstone therapy, and if necessary, referral to another practitioner or veterinarian.
